Technology changes more often than we can catch up at times and Africa has been said to be a continent that plays catch up with the rest of the world. This is attributed to a fact that we have so many challenges with basic social services at core of things.

It has been well proven that technology plays a critical role as an enabler in many sector and an instrumental way out of poverty. We need solution providers, pioneers and proactive thinking for what lies ahead for the continent.

Geekulcha created the Future Geekstars initiative as a way to groom and channel Geeks of the future to provide solutions for growing needs of the continent. Established in 2014, the Future Geekstars initiative is targeted at young minds will in primary and secondary education.

Part of the Future Geekstars initiative Is a holiday programme called the Youth ICT and Business Vacation Work programme which provides a real or simulated working environment for young minds to learn how to code, work on real life projects and build own tech startups.
